I was listening to an interview with Marvin Kalb, a great reporter and writer who has just published a new book.
“Haunting Legacy: Vietnam and the American Presidency from Ford to Obama.”
He made a statement that when he was covering Kennedy in the 1960's and was standing at a bank of elevators that were used to go to the Suites occupied by the President, he was tackled and thrown to the floor by secret service. He had seen a young woman being put on the elevator going to the Presidents suite.

Marvin Kalb went on to say that if he would have went back and told Walter Conkrite the story, Conkrite would have told him, THAT"S NOT NEWS........THAT"S GOSSIP!
In 1963 Marvin Kalb observed the Secret Service escorting an attractive woman into a hotel for what was most likely a rendezvous with President Kennedy. Kalb, then a news correspondent for CBS, didn't consider the incident newsworthy. Thirty-five years later, Kalb watched in dismay as the press dove headfirst into the scandal of President Clinton's affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, disclosing every prurient detail. How and why had the journalistic landscape shifted so dramatically?

My Question is what has happened to our American Press.
The way the press on T.V. and Radio manipulates gossip to give the story legs is getting very hard to take. That is not Journalism.
The News media wonders why they've lost credibility with the public. Why the public reads news, opinion ,(blogs) from internet sources instead of getting their information from the big 4 . ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC.
But how can you believe these talking heads when they are told to sensationalize in order to get ratings..... And sensationalizing is actually killing their careers...It's not what the public wants, If we we wanted Jerry Springer or Judge Judy , we would turn on those programs.
The Newspapers wonder why they have to cut jobs, let people go in the print area, yet they don't follow up on stories about Rupert Murdoch's fiasco's now world wide. For that information you have to search the internet.
The Sydney Moring Herald reports that federal police in Australia are investigating claims by a former legislator that in the late 1990's a senior executive with a Murdoch-owned newspaper offered to "take care" of the politician and create friendly, "special relationship" with him if he voted against a pending piece of legislation that would impact Murdoch's business interests.

Because of this very thing they do, the manipulation and opinionation of all news stories on T.V. and Newspaper, these two sources are slowly dieing the slow death. Their industry is going the way that Manufacturing has gone in America.....AWAY.
What is your opinion? Should these sources of information cut the crap... and start getting back to the real story of reporting the news as it comes in without editorializing or giving opinions that we could care less about.
Why not just report the News...Give us the TRUTH.. The Whole Truth and nothing but the Truth.
Would it really hurt if they Just reported what is going on?
